ANF burns 18 tonnes narcotics, 169,000 litres liquor during annual drug burning exercise in Sheikhupura
During the current year, ANF Punjab arrested 590 drug traffickers and registered 463 cases


Sheikhupura: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted annual drug destruction ceremony in Sheikhupura on Thursday.
More than 18 tonnes of various narcotics and over 169,000 litres of liquor were destroyed during the annual drug disposal ceremony held by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in Sheikhupura.
The confiscated substances included liquor, hashish, heroin, crystal meth (ice), poppy husk and cannabis.
Keeping environmental protection in view, the narcotics were incinerated using a modern industrial incinerator to prevent pollution.
The ceremony was attended by the Regional Director ANF Punjab, Director General CNF Punjab, RPO Sheikhupura, the Bishop of Lahore, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of South Asia.
During the current year, ANF Punjab arrested 590 drug traffickers and registered 463 cases. Courts also handed down life imprisonment to 35 high-profile traffickers, while 132 others received rigorous sentences.
In addition, ANF conducted anti-drug awareness seminars in more than 1,000 educational institutions, including colleges and universities, as part of its preventive campaign against narcotics.
