Work on ten dams started to make Pakistan self-sufficient in energy sector: PM
Tarbela: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that government work on ten dams has been started to make the country self-sufficient in energy sector.

He made the statement while addressing the ground breaking ceremony of the fifth tunnel of Tarbela Dam on Thursday.
Speaking on occasion, PM further stated that government is making efforts to generate environment friendly electricity from natural resources till 2030.
“All these steps will prove to be highly essential in reducing the impacts of global warming.” he added.
The extension project of Tarbela Dam will be completed by 2024 at a cost of eight-hundred and seven million dollars. The project will enhance Tarbela Dam's electricity generation capacity from 4888 megawatts to 6418 megawatts.
