Kabul: The Afghan government finally surrenders, offering‘share in power’ to the Taliban as it gains control of Ghazni.

Afghan govt offers ‘share in power’ as Taliban captures Ghazni

Acoording to Al-Jazeera, an official revealed that the rebels now have Ghazni under its grip which is located about 130km southwest of the capital Kabul. He added that after intense fighting they also seized all of its government agency headquarters.

This is the 10th provincial capital that has been captured.

Government source disclosed that a suggestion was made by the Afghan government to share power with Taliban in order to cease ongoing unrest in the country.

The proposal was provided by Qatar, the Afghan peace talk’s organizer.

Clashes are being carried out in Lashkar Gah, one of the largest cities in Helmand province.

The Taliban took Lashkar Gah’s local police headquarters into its custody, as some police officers surrendered to the rebel fighters, while others took off to the governor’s office still under possession of government forces.

“All local government officials, including the provincial governor, have been evacuated towards Kabul,” said an official who desires to remain unidentified.
