Peshawar: Heavy rains in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have caused multiple accidents, resulting in the deaths of 17 people.
According to details, light to heavy rainfall occurred in districts including Swat, Bannu, Hangu, Nowshera, Tank, Bajaur, Karak, Parachinar, Malakand, as well as North and South Waziristan.
In Abbottabad, the roof of a house collapsed, killing 5 people and seriously injuring a woman. Among the deceased were 4 young girls.
According to the PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa report, from March 25 onwards, rainfall caused the collapse of roofs and walls, killing 17 people and injuring 56. The deceased included 14 children, 1 man, and 2 women.
The report also stated that 11 houses were damaged due to the rains, with incidents reported in Bannu and North Waziristan.
The Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rainfall across various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until Tuesday. In addition, rainfall occurred in several districts of Punjab, including Sargodha, Bhakkar, Lodhran, Vehari, Chiniot, Hafizabad, and Bahawalpur.
