Coronavirus in Pakistan: 72 more succumb to COVID, 3,669 test positive
Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the fourth wave of coronavirus amid threat of highly contagious Indian delta variant.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 3,669 cases of coronavirus were reported while 72 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 24,478.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,102,079.
As many as 989,013 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,778 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 372,750 in the province with 11,372 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 412,165 in the province, while the death toll has reached 6,439.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 152,625 in the province with 4,668 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 31,583 confirmed cases while 335 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 29,452 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 666. On the other hand, there are 9,396 cases in GB with 164 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 94,108 cases in the capital city while 834 people have lost their lives.
