Protesters call for action over Mahmood Bhatti's social media remarks

Lahore: A protest demonstration was held outside the Lahore Press Club on Shimla Pahari against renowned fashion designer Mahmood Bhatti over his controversial social media statements. Activists from various religious and social organisations gathered to condemn his recent remarks, calling them offensive to women and Islamic values.

Protesters carried banners and placards bearing slogans against Bhatti. Speakers addressing the crowd said certain statements circulated on social media regarding marriage, hijab, and social values had sparked serious concern among the public.

The demonstrators stated that several religious scholars and circles had also strongly reacted to the remarks. They demanded that relevant authorities conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and take legal action if any violation of law is proven.

Participants urged the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to expedite the ongoing inquiry and bring facts to light. They also called on the government and law enforcement agencies to take appropriate legal measures, keeping public sentiments and national laws in view.

The protesters reaffirmed their commitment to continue raising their voice for the protection of religious and social values, and pledged to pursue peaceful demonstrations until their demands are addressed.
