PM, Field Marshal meet Iranian delegation, exchange views on negotiations

Bürgenstock: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif met a high-level Iranian delegation, in the presence of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

According to details, the meeting took place ahead of the formal start of bilateral talks between the two sides, where initial discussions were held on matters of mutual interest. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also attended the meeting.

The Iranian delegation included Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

It is worth noting that earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir had also met US Vice President JD Vance. The US delegation included Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, who met the Pakistani leadership during the visit.

Before the meeting, US Vice President JD Vance acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating understanding between Iran and the United States.

In response to a question in this regard, JD Vance enthusiastically said, “We love Pakistan.”
