PM, Field Marshal inaugurate Sky47 Karakorum-01 Data Centre

ISLAMABAD -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir have jointly inaugurated Sky47 Karakorum-01 Data Centre.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony in Rawalpindi today, Shehbaz Sharif described the newly established Data Centre as a remarkable achievement and expressed confidence that it will play a pivotal role in Pakistan's technological transformation and digital future.

He commended the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and all those involved in the project, saying their commitment and foresight had made the initiative possible.

Shehbaz Sharif said the successful completion of the project demonstrates that with determination and unity of purpose, Pakistan can overcome challenges and achieve ambitious national goals. He expressed confidence that the country would not only recover from the losses of the past but also emerge as a dynamic, progressive and forward-looking nation.

Referring to Marka-e-Haq, the Prime Minister said it was one of the finest moments in Pakistan's history and a testament to the fact that where there is determination, there is always a way forward.

He said initiatives such as the Data Centre represent the future of Pakistan and stressed the need for all state institutions to align with the facility to fully benefit from its capabilities.

The Prime Minister also appreciated the contributions of ZTE, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, and all other stakeholders for their support in the successful execution of the project.

He noted that the data centre has a capacity of 8.5 megawatts and said they are going to replicate it in Karachi and Lahore to further strengthen the country's digital infrastructure.

Sky47 is Pakistan's largest carrier-neutral and AI-ready digital infrastructure platform. It has been purpose-built to global standards and is designed to provide scalable, high-performance computing infrastructure capable of supporting the most demanding artificial intelligence workloads within the country.

The facility features sovereign cloud architecture and enterprise-grade security at every level, ensuring that Pakistan's critical data remains protected, compliant and securely hosted within the country's borders.

The Data Centre will reinforce Pakistan's digital sovereignty, enhance national resilience, and accelerate the country's digital transformation.

The project reflects Pakistan's commitment to developing world-class digital infrastructure to meet future technological demands.
