GLASGOW -- Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem secured his place in the men's javelin throw final at the Commonwealth Games after finishing seventh in the qualifying round on Thursday.

Fellow Pakistani Yasir Sultan, however, narrowly missed out on qualification. His best effort of 74.36 metres earned him 14th place, leaving him two positions short of the top 12 required to progress.
