Security forces kill 12 terrorists in Hangu, Panjgur operations: ISPR

RAWALPINDI -- Security forces killed at least 12 alleged terrorists in two operations in Hangu and Panjgur districts in Kyber Pakhtunkhwa and Blaochistan, military's media wing said on Monday.  

At least eight Khwarij belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khwarij were neutralised in an effective engagement in Hangu district.

According to ISPR, during the intense exchange of fire between the security forces convoy and Khawarij, two brave officers, Captain Abuzar Farooq and Lieutenant Sheraz Babar, who were leading their troops from the front, fought gallantly and embraced Shahadat along with their four men.

A sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, as the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision "Azm-e-Istehkam" continues to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

These sacrifices of our brave soldiers further reinforce our unwavering commitment to safeguarding our nation at all costs.

Four terrorists of Fitna al-Hindustan have been killed by security forces during an operation in Paroom area of Panjgur district.

According to security sources, a large quantity of modern weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the terrorists.

Funeral prayers offered

The funeral prayers for the Pakistan Army martyrs, who lost their lives in an exchange of fire with Khawarij in Hangu, were offered in Peshawar.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, the Peshawar Corps Commander, the families of the martyrs, and a large number of senior civil and military officials attended the funeral prayers.

The six Pakistan Army martyrs who embraced martyrdom in  exchange of fire with Khawarij in Hangu included Captain Abu Zar Farooq, Lieutenant Shiraz Babar, Sepoy Shakeel Ahmed, Sepoy Hamza, Sepoy Muhammad Usman Aziz and non-combatant Ghulam Sajjad.
