PCB’s incumbent chairman Ehsan Mani’s three-year term as the head of the sports body is ending on August 24.
Sources privy to the development said Prime Minister Imran Khan might not extend the contract of Mani as the former wished to appoint a cricketer as the PCB's new chief. The premier would decide the name in a day or two, they added.
Sources further said Mani failed to come up to the expections of PM Imran who thought only an experienced cricketer could lead and fulfil his (Imran Khan) vision.
