Quetta: Four security forces were martyred while at least 20 people sustained injuries in a blast near Sona Khan on Mastung Road on Sunday, GNN reported.


An explosion occurred in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan killing at least three people on the spot and injuring 20 others.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the attack was targeted towards a Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle that was patrolling in the area.
The Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) confirmed that the blast was a suicide attack and targeted the security check post.
The victims were shifted to multiple hospitals.
The road has been cordoned off and a heavy contingent of police and Rangers have reached the site while, investigators and bomb disposal squad officials also reached the spot to evaluate the intensity of the blast.
Police said the explosion was much powerful and heard far away.
Earlier, authorities were suspecting that the blast may have been a suicide bomb attack, however an investigation to ascertain the cause of the blast was underway.
