Downpour in Lahore, roads inundated
Lahore: The capital of Punjab is under a heavy spell of rain and inundated roads are causing difficulties to the citizens.
As per reports, the grip of summer has been loosened due to the rain and a significant decrease in the temperature is noted.
Heavy shower with thunder lightning started at midnight 2:41 AM. Traffic has been disrupted resultantly.
Heavy rains lashed Gulberg, Walton, Dharampura, Ghaziabad, Canal Road and Garhi Shahu Mall Road areas. 101 mm of rain was recorded in Lakshmi Chowk and 99 mm in Farahabad, 95 mm on Jail Road and 94 mm on Paniwala to Lab. Heavy rains disrupted power in many parts of the city. The power supply was cut off in areas of Band Road, Samanabad, Multan Road, Iqbal Town and Ferozepur Road.
The Meteorological Department has forecast more rains in the next 24 hours while the rains in Punjab are likely to continue for the next two days.
