SSGC announces four-day gas suspension for CNG outlets in Sindh, Balochistan
Karachi: The Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd (SSGCL) Monday suspended gas supplies to all the CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) stations across Sindh and Balochistan for four days.
The SSGCL issued an official notification, according to which CNG stations and Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) were directed to be closed from 12pm today.
As per details, the decision to suspend gas supply was taken due to dry-docking of Engro LNG terminal as there was shortage of gas in the system.
Dry-docking has been started from today (September 14) and will be done by 17th, under the revised program at Engro Terminal during FSRU conversion.
The supplies to CNG stations will be restored from September 18 (Saturday) at 8am.
In the meantime, the RLNG in the SSGC system will be reduced from 75 to 150 MMCFD.
Moreover, gas supplies to K-Electric, Sindh Nooriabad Power Company and FFBQL would also be partially reduced.
However, domestic and commercial customers will face no interruption in gas supplies.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the SSGC said that the company was facing difficulties in meeting the needs of domestic and commercial customers due to low-pressure gas.
