Islamabad: The Speaker of National Assembly (NA) Asad Qaiser has said that the press gallery was locked during the address of President Arif Alvi to avoid chaos and the Parliamentary Reporters Association (PRA).

The PRA has furiously denied this statement by the speaker and termed it as "fake news" because no meeting was held before Tuesday.
Interaction with the PRA of Asad was held which he said was a "discussion" with the association.
“I can’t afford that two groups start fighting there [at press gallery]; resulting in disrespecting the House and the media,” said Qaiser.
The speaker has admitted that it was a misunderstanding in reaching an agreement that only the gallery would be locked and not the lounge behind it.
"PRA delegation has not met the Speaker National Assembly nor has the PRA been taken into confidence over the closure of the Press Gallery, PRA strongly condemns this black lie of the Speaker," noted Asif Bashir, the secretary-general of PRA.
The secretary has also asked for an inquiry to identify which group has met the speaker.
