Islamabad: The Foreign Minister (FM) of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi in an interview to a private news channel said that Pakistan is "open" to give pardon to the Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) if they give up their terrorist activities.

FM has said that TTP disturbed the peace of Pakistan and the problems they create directly affect innocent lives, and we don't want this.
"If [the TTP] are willing to mend fences and not take the law into their hands and not get involved in terrorist activities and they submit and surrender to the writ of the government and the Constitution of Pakistan, we are even open to giving them a pardon," says Shah Mehmood.
However, Minister also said that Afghanistan has reassured that they won't allow its territory to be used against Pakistan or any other country.
Earlier, the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi has also enunciated similar views.
It is pertinent to note here that TTP has meted out deadly attacks in Pakistan for years and many military operations have also been executed to eradicate the TTP.
