CNG stations reopen in Punjab, Islamabad after 37-day closure
Islamabad: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations across Punjab and Islamabad have resumed supply for a period of 12 hours on Sunday following a 37-day closure.
According to details, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL) decided to resume gas supply to CNG stations in Punjab and Islamabad after suspension of more than a month owing to shortage of gas in winter.
The gas supply which resumed at 6:00 am will be cut off at 6:00 pm today.The supply was suspended for more than a month to ensure provision of gas to domestic consumers.
On the other hand in Sindh, all CNG stations will remain open for 24 hours from 8:00am today as the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) resumed gas supply across province after nearly a week.
Meanwhile, long queues of cars and other vehicles were seen outside CNG stations gas stations today.
The CNG sector is last on government’s priority list for the supply of gas. The preference is given to domestic consumers followed by power sector and industries.
