Palestinians have always had different symbols to represent their resistance, however, a spoon is the newest sign that has captured attention of several social media users.

In Palestine, spoon has taken its place alongside traditional flags and banners as a symbol of freedom after six prisoners tunnelled out from one of Israel’s biggest and spectacular jail breaks—using utensil.
Palestinians have always had different symbols to represent their resistance, however, a spoon is the newest sign that has captured attention of several social media users.
Using spoon, six fugitives escaped from one of the high-security Gilboa Prison.
The six prisoners are identified as Zakaria Zubeidi, Mahmoud Ardah, Mohammad Ardah, Yacoub Qadri, Ayham Kamamji and Munadel Nfeiat.
As per reports quoting sources, the men evaded 40 prison guards, three watchtowers, two walls, two barbed-wire fences and a pack of sniffer dogs to get their freedom.
“They used a rusty spoon to escape one of the most secure jails in the country,” added source.
On the other hand, several reports said that the six men used plates and sharpened pan handles to begin their digging, not spoons.
Then on Wednesday a lawyer for one of the fugitives, Mahmud Abdullah Ardah who has since been recaptured said that his client, had used spoons, plates and even the handle of a kettle to dig the tunnel from his cell.
All six were accused of plotting or carrying out attacks against Israelis. However, two men remain on the loose following the extremely rare escape.
Meanwhile, Israel has begun an inquiry into lapses that led to the humiliating incident, which Palestinians see as a "victory".
