Islamabad: The Prime Minister, Imran Khan on Wednesday inaugurated the Spring Tree Plantation Campaign 2021, under the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Project and the first-ever Miyawaki Forest by planting a sapling in Shakarparian, Islamabad.

The premier was accompanied by the Minister of Interior, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed the Adviser on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam, and Senator Faisal Javed Khan.
While addressing to the ceremony, Imran Khan paid tribute to Malik Amin Aslam and State Minister for Climate Change, Zartaj Gul.
“We are bringing change in Pakistan by altering both the land and the thinking,” said Imran Khan.
He further added that the inauguration of Miyawaki Forest would be replicated at 20 other sites in the federal capital.
Highlighting the climate change in the world, Khan stressed that Pakistan is among the 10 countries in the world that are most at risk.
While referring to the pollution in Lahore he stated that today the contamination in the city shortens human life by 11 years.
Imran Khan further briefed the progress that has been made to achieve the target of 51 Urban Forest Sites in Lahore to check air pollution and protect the environment
