Senate elections: ECP rejects PTI's objections, accepts nomination papers of Gillani
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected the objections raised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and accepted the nomination papers of former premier Yousuf Raza Gilani.

According to details, the verdict was pronounced by returning officer Zafar Iqbal.
On Tuesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had challenged the acceptance of nomination papers of former premier Yousaf Raza Gillani for Senate elections.
It was alleged by PTI leader Fareed Rehman that Gillani had concealed facts in the nomination papers adding that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader didn’t meet the criteria of Article 62 as he had not mentioned being a convicted person in his nomination papers.
It is pertinent to mention here that Yousaf Raza Gillani is the joint candidate of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in the upcoming Senate elections.
