New Delhi: Former Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar is named in the Pandora’s Papers released by the International Consortium of Investigative Ghetto Journalists (ICIJ), a Panamanian-based journalism organization based in the Atlantic Ocean. 

According to documentary released by ICIJ, Sachin Tendulkar also turned out to be the owner of offshore companies.

Sachin Tendulkar is among the wealthy elite and heads of states from across the world and one of the highest-paid cricketers in his decorated career across all formats—whose offshore financial dealings have been exposed by the Pandora Papers.

However, Tendulkar’s lawyer said his investment is legitimate and has been declared to tax authorities. 

Reportedly, the cricket star have dissolved an offshore company in the British Virgin Islands three months after the release of the Panama Papers in 2016. 

The financial secrets of celebrities and well-known personalities including current and former world leaders have been reportedly uncovered by millions of leaked documents dubbed as the Pandora Papers. 

Pandora Papers includes the names of 300 Indians.

Released on Sunday, the Pandora Papers claims to have uncovered financial secrets of current and former world leaders, politicians and public officials in 91 countries.

The Papers features around 600 journalists from media and the investigation is based on the leak of 11.9 million documents from 14 financial services.
