Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Lahore President Muhammad Pervaiz Malik passed away on Monday.


Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Lahore President and member of the National Assembly (NA) Muhammad Pervaiz Malik has passed away on Monday (October 11) following a prolonged illness, GNN reported. He was 74.
As per details, PML-N leader was hospitalized in a private hospital and died due to cardiac arrest.
The details about his funeral prayers will be announced later.
After the General Elections 2018, he had been elected as the party's MNA from Lahore's NA-133 seat.
The veteran PML-N leader had been elected five times from Lahore— winning the election in 1997, 2002, 2010, 2013 and 2018. His wife, Shaista Pervaiz and their son, Ali Pervaiz Malik, are both MNAs as well.
Malik's sister Yasmeen Rehman has also been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the departed soul was the younger brother of Lahore High Courts’ retired justice Malik Mohammad Qayyum, who also served as the Attorney General of Pakistan.
PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb, on her official twitter handle condole the sad demise of Pervez Malik, referring to him as a merciful person.
“Uncle Pervez Malik was a very kind, humble and compassionate man who did good to God's people. His death is as traumatic as the loss of his father and elder brother. May Allah Almighty grant him a high rank in heaven and grant patience to his family. Amen,” she wrote.

Born on 18 November 1947 in Lahore, Malik done B.Sc. Honours in Engineering from Aston University.
