Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari Thursday claimed that his party would form the next government in the country.
While addressing to media after court appearance in capital city, former president expressed confidence in his party, saying PPP will form the next government all over Pakistan.
Asif Zardari termed the ruling government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as ‘incompetent’, adding that the process of accountability will be continued till the devastation of economy.
Earlier in the day, the PPP leader requested an Islamabad accountability court—seeking acquittal in Rs8.3 billion transactions case on the basis of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Amendment Ordinance 2021.
Following which the accountability court reserved a verdict on the admissibility of the petition.
Previously, Islamabad High Court (IHC) had deferred the indictment of Asif Ali Zardari in suspicious transactions of Rs8 billion case amid his absence.
It is pertinent to mention here that, accountability court had granted bail to Zardari on medical grounds.
The reference
NAB had filed a reference against Asif Ali Zardari for carrying out Rs8.3 billion transactions through fake bank accounts.
According to the reference, an illegal transaction of Rs8.3 billion was carried out between Mushtaq Ahmed and a private housing society.
