PSL 6: Cricket carnival all set to kick off today as Karachi face Quetta in opener
Karachi: The sixth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) is all set to kick off today at Karachi’s National Stadium today.
According to details, Karachi Kings will begin their title defence as they face Quetta Gladiators in the opening game scheduled at 8:00 PST.
The star studded opening ceremony will begin at 6:45pm on Saturday.
"The first four ceremonies were held at the Dubai International Stadium while the 2020 opening ceremony was staged at the National Stadium Karachi and the same venue will play host to the 2021 ceremony," the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement.
The artists performing include Atif Aslam, rapper Imran Khan and PSL 2021 anthem stars Naseebo Lal and Aima Baig.
All security arrangements have been completed for conducting the event. Only 7500 fans will be able to witness the matches at National Stadium. National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has strictly directed authorities to ensure implementation of coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
