Indian climate activist becomes face of crackdown on dissent
Mumbai: Disha Ravi, a 22-year-old climate activist has become the face of crackdown on dissent after being arrested by the Modi government
Ravi was arrested last weekend on sedition charges with a Delhi court extending her incarceration for two more weeks.
Ravi's arrest has triggered protests across the country, exposing the country's authoritarian tendency especially after farmers protests rocked the country.
Ravi has been accused of creating an online toolkit that listed down peaceful ways of protests. The document was shared by renowned Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg after a slew of international celebrities including Rihanna and Mina Harris offered support for the farmer protests.
Disha Ravi had tweeted her support for the cause, a threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's fascist regime.
