Lahore: The Punjab government on Thursday reshuffled 20 Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) including RPOs and CPOs besides several District Police Officers in a major reshuffle in police ranks.


The visible among all was the change of top command in the Lahore police following the violent episodes of banned Tehreek Labiak Pakistan's protests.
Capital City Police Officer Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, DIG Operations Lahore Captain (retired) Muhammad Sohail Ch and DIG Investigation Lahore Shariq Jamal were shown the door "as expected after TLP show".

Additional IG Investigation Punjab Fayyaz Ahmad Dev-- who had apparently not seen in the field policing in the last few years-- is now new CCPO Lahore, while City Police Officer Rawalpindi Muhammad Ahsan Younas will discharge his duties as DIG Operations Lahore. DIG Shahzada Sultan has been appointed DIG Investigation Lahore probably second time.
The Budzar-led government also changed Regional Police Officers of Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan.
D G Khan RPO Captain (retired) Muhammad Faisal Rana has been posted Sargodha RPO vice DIG Ashfaq Ahmad Khan who will now serve Rawalpindi as RPO.

Mr Rana, who had dealt with notorious gangs like Ladi gang and managed to get the D G Khan region comprising four districts free from henious and desperate crimes in his over a year tenure and received acknowledgement from the Chief Minister Punjab, has been assigned the Sargodha region that houses the home town of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Rawlapindi RPO Imran Ahmar has been posted Gujranwala RPO after his two conseuctive field postings of Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi, while DIG Muhammad Waqas Nazir has been posted D G Khan RPO.

DIG Sher Akbar, who is apparently new comer in Punjab, has been posted Bahawalpur RPO vice Muhammad Zubair Dareshak who has been transferred and posted DIG Headquarters in the Central Police Office, Lahore.

SSP Athar Ismail Amjad, who was AIG Logistics CPO Punjab, has been posted Rawalpindi City Police officer vice DIG Ahsan Younas.

The Punjab police chief separately reshuffled DPOs of Hafizabad, Chiniot, Sialkot, Nankana, D G Khan, Mianwali, Kasur, Khanewal, SSP Operations Lahore and SSP Investigation Lahore.
