NA-75 by-poll: Returning officers went missing, results tampered, reveals report
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has received inquiry report on the NA-75 by-election. The report said that the returning officers had gone missing on the night of the election day whereas results of 20 polling stations were also tempered.
Initial report has revealed that the returning officers returned to submit the results at 6 am – the next morning. The report also reviewed the role of administration and law enforcement agencies during the by-poll.
The Election Commission Pakistan while reviewing all sides is expected to announce its verdict in the next two days.
Earlier, the Chief Election Commissioner had taken notice of incident in which returning officers were found missing and results of 20 polling stations were delayed on the election day.
