Three colliers shot dead in on Sunday in the Zalawan area of Shahrag, after unknown armed men opened fire on them.


Harnai: In an unfortunate incident, three people working in a coal mine were killed when unknown armed men opened fire on them at Shahrag area of Harnai district in Balochistan on Sunday.
According to details, the colliers had not been identified but the forces had been dispatched to transport the bodies of the deceased to a hospital.
The area has been cordoned off and hunt for the arrest of the unidentified militants is underway.
A Balochistan Coal Mines Workers Federation official said the three miners were not from the province.
It is pertinent to mention here that in Balochistan, incidents of attacks on miners are frequent.
In January, 11 coal miners from the remote Machh coal field were kidnapped and killed, an attack that drew widespread condemnation.
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) had expressed concern over human rights violations and bad working conditions in Balochistan’s coal mines.
