40-year-old lawyer shot dead in broad daylight

Karachi: In a tragic incident, a 40-year-old lawyer was shot dead in broad daylight by two unidentified motorcyclists near Gulistan-e-Johar Block 13 area of Karachi, GNN reported Wednesday.

As per preliminary reports, the lawyer has been killed following a gun attack on his car, in what was a suspicious target killing.   

GNN News acquired the CCTV footage of the incident in which the motorcyclists can clearly be seen stopping Irfan’s vehicle. The attackers, then, opened fire on him.

The suspects, however, managed to flee from the scene.

The deceased was on his way home after dropping his children to school when he was attacked and shot dead. Reportedly, he was shot multiple times

The slain lawyer, identified as Irfan Mehar got seriously injured and was being transported to a hospital when he died on the way.

Irfan was a High Court lawyer and also the General Secretary of Sindh Bar Council.

Meanwhile, police rushed to the scene and started an investigation into the incident.  

Following the incident, lawyers across Sindh have boycotted courts to protest against the attack.
