Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani arrested in assets beyond income case
Durrani expressed 'hope that he will get justice from SC'

Islamabad: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday arrested Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in assets beyond income case.
According to details, the arrest has been made over the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Earlier today, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) speaker Agha Siraj Durrani appeared before the court. He had approached the apex court for pre-arrest bail in the assets beyond known source of income’s case. The court had ordered PPP leader to surrender before the NAB.
On the occasion, Durrani expressed hope that he will get justice from SC.
Earlier, a team of NAB had raided the residence of the speaker following rejection of his bail from Sindh High Court (SHC) but failed to arrest him due to resistance from his guard.
It is pertinent to remember that NAB had filed a reference against the PPP leader, his family members and others for allegedly accumulating assets worth Rs1.6 billion through illegal means. Durrani was unable to account for a difference of Rs1.6b between his declared incomes from 1985 to 2018.
