Says the law enforcement agencies are working in very challenging times and trying their best to overcome the problems faced by them.


Islamabad: Federal Investigation Agency director-general Sanaullah Abbasi on Thursday called for collective efforts from the state institutions and civil society to help curb the menace of corruption.
He was addressing the participants of the International Anti-Corruption Day observed at the FIA Academy.
"This day is a reminder to translate the slogan of curbing corruption into tangible actions."
Abbasi emphasized that the recent spike in international remittances reflected the fact that the belief of the people in the system is being strengthened.
He said the law enforcement agencies are working in very challenging times and trying their best to overcome the problems faced by them.
The FIA DG further emphasized that anti-corruption efforts and economic development of any society are linked and it is the shared responsibility of all stakeholders.
He conveyed a message to the youth of Pakistan to play a vital role in raising voice against corruption and help the state institutions in creating more awareness in the society.
Ahmer Bilal Soofi, leading law expert, and Shahzad Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor Health Sciences Academy were also among the participants.
Shahzad Ali Khan while sharing his thoughts on the occasion said that a negative perception about the situation of corruption was being propagated by some institutions against Pakistan which was contrary to the actual situation.S
Sharing his thoughts, Ahmer Bilal Soofi said FIA had a pivotal role in projecting Pakistan as a responsible state because the work done by FIA is presented on international forums.
He also stressed upon the importance of legal protection for civil servants who can provide solutions to the daunting challenges faced by Pakistan.
