Fawad Chaudhry says reputation of prime minister was targeted in this campaign

Islamabad: The government has decided to file a defamation case against Justice (rtd) Wajihuddin Ahmed.
This was announced by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry while addressing a press conference on Thursday. He said that the government will file a defamation case against Wajihuddin for his baseless allegations against Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding Bani Gala’s household expenses.
It is pertinent to mention here that justice (rtd) claimed earlier this week that Jahangir Tareen used to pay Rs5 million per month to run Imran Khan’s household expenses. He has denied the allegations levelled by Wajihuddin.
Fawad Chaudhry said the reputation of the prime minister was targeted in this campaign and a violation of article 9 of the Constitution of Pakistan was seen. He stressed that there should be a discussion on new legislation about defamation and courts should also take notice.
