Karachi blast: PM condoles with families of victims

Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Saturday expressed condolences to the families of victims of the blast at Sher Shah Paracha Chowk Karachi.
In a tweet, the prime minister said, “My heartfelt prayers & condolences go to all the families of victims of the twin blasts at Sher Shah Paracha Chowk, Karachi. I am especially saddened to hear of the loss of our MNA Alamgir Khan’s father who also perished in the blast. May Allah give him strength to bear this loss.”

In a statement, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives including the father of PTI National Assembly member Alamgir Khan in Sher Shah blast in Karachi.
He said that at this difficult time, he shared the grief of the bereaved families. He prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear the loss with fortitude.
The minister also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured in the blast.
Earlier, eight person was killed and 12 people have been injured in an explosion occurred at the city's Sher Shah Paracha Chowk area.
According to details, the explosion occurred in site area near a private bank, resulting damage of other building situated in the area.
Police and rescue official rushed the explosion site.
Rescue officials are shifting the injured to the Civil Hospital for treatment. Among the 12 injured, two are said to be in critical condition.
According to police, the nature of the blast is being determined.
A bomb disposal unit (BDU) has arrived at the location of the blast. Police and Rangers officials have cordoned off the area.
