Asian Champions Trophy 2021: Pakistan to lock horns with India for hockey medal today
The arch-rivals will clash after a gap of three years


Dhaka: Pakistan are set to play against India in the Asian Champions Trophy bronze medal play off today after losing their respective semi-finals. The tournament is being played in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
According to details, the match will start at 3 pm Pakistan Standard Time.
Korea edged Pakistan 6-5 while Japan stunned India 3-5 in the semis on Tuesday. Pakistan are ranked 18th while India are fourth in the world hockey rankings.
The archrivals will clash after a gap of three years. They played each other in the 2018 edition of the Asian Champions Trophy.
Both arch-rivals Pakistan and India are desperate to win the match against each other. Pakistan has so far played two matches in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, winning one and losing the other.
Pakistan and India took on each other in a total of 152 matches. Out of 152, Pakistan has won 82 and India has won 53 while 30 matches have been drawn.
Whether it is hockey, cricket or any other sport, whenever there is a match between the two countries, the atmosphere of war is visible. A similar contest is expected this time around.
