Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja on Wednesday announced that cricket fans will be the top priority of his plans going forward.
Addressing a press conference with newly appointed Chief Executive Faisal Hasnain, Ramiz Raja said that he had faced several challenges after assuming the charge. The team was on an impressive trajectory but acknowledged that "more work needs to be done."
PCB’s 67th meeting of the Board of Governors (BoG) took place in Karachi.
Chairman PCB said, "I have been working at the PCB for the past three months yet it feels like 30 years have passed. I now realize that holidays are a huge blessing."
"Pakistan has to improve its fielding a lot," he noted. Ramiz Raja assured to provide the best coaches to a new generation. He said that steps are being taken to promote cricket at schools.
Wrong impression is being spread that coaches decided about performance. The board will train 100 children and provide them 30,000 scholarships every month, he told.
Ramiz Raja said that cricket fans will be at the heart of his plans going forward.
Ramiz Raja said that the world’s best teams are going to visit Pakistan next season. We are establishing a separate club for fans, he stated.
“We will give equal importance to, both, PSL and international matches so that the fans know that we are a compassionate organization who wants to improve their viewing experience.”
Meanwhile, Faisal Hasnain said that improving the structure of PCB is his first priority.
