SC stops authorities from demolishing lawyers’ offices in Islamabad chamber
Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Friday has stopped the authorities from demolishing the offices of lawyers in Islamabad chamber.
The court accepted the appeal of the Islamabad Bar Council for the hearing and issued notices to the attorney general and the Islamabad advocate general to not take any action till the next hearing.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, heard the petition against the demolition of lawyers’ ofiices.
During the hearing, a large number of lawyers gathered around the rostrum, resulting annoyance to Chief Justice Gulzar who expressed displeasure over the lawyers.
He remarked that the court will not get pressurized through these actions and also instructed the lawyers over their misbehavior.
Moreover, Justice Ijazul Ahsan remarked that three-story chambers were built on a football ground.
However, the hearing was adjourned.
