ICC reveals nominees for Men's Test Player of the Year

Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominations for the Test Player of the Year, which includes four players, while no Pakistani player has been included in the list.

According to the list released by ICC, the list of nominees includes India’s Ravi Chandran Ashwin, England captain Joe Root, Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Krunaratne  and New Zealand’s Kyle Jamieson.

India’s Ravi Chandran Ashwin has been included in the list for taking 52 wickets in 8 matches while Ashwin has also scored 337 with a century.

Second in the list is England captain Joe Root. Root has scored 1,708 runs in 15 matches, including six centuries in his innings.

Third on the list is Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Krunaratne, who has scored 902 runs in 7 matches, including four centuries.

Fourth on the list of nominees is New Zealand’s Kyle Jamieson who has taken 27 wickets in 5 matches while scoring 105 runs.

It should be noted that the Player of the Year award will be announced on January 24 next year while the Player of the Year will be selected through voting in which the fans will choose the player of their choice.
