APP journalist Fawad Azam dies in Jaranwala road mishap

The incident took place between a motorcycle and a trailer in tehsil Jaranwala.

APP journalist Fawad Azam dies in Jaranwala road mishap

Faisalabad: Senior journalist Fawad Azam Awan and his fellow villager died in a road mishap in Jaranawala on Saturday, police and rescuers said.

The incident took place between Adda Awagat and Chak no. 68/GB Jaranwala in morning hours. The victims were riding a bike and were trying to overtake a trailer loaded with sugarcane at the time of mishap.  

37-year-old Fawad and 38-year-old Kabeer Ahmad lost their lives. The dead bodies were shifted to THQ Hospital Jaranwala.

Fawad Azam was associated with the Associated Press of Pakistan as News Reporter and was council member of Lahore Press Club. He was considered a hardworking and upright journalist in Lahore media industry.

Journalist community from Lahore expressed deep sense of sorrow over the tragic demise of Fawad and sympathies with the bereaved family.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar also expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of council member of Lahore Press Club and senior reporter APP.

He extended heartfelt sympathies and condolence with the bereaved family and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family members with fortitude.   

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, and Minister of State Farrukh Habib on Saturday expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Associated Press of Pakistan’s (APP) senior journalist Fawad Azam in a traffic accident in Lahore.

In their separate condolence messages, they sympathized with the family of Fawad Azam and said journalistic services of the deceased would be remembered long.

They prayed to the Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to members of the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
