The consumer was stealing gas by tampering the meter through application of magnet on meter body


Kasur: A Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited employee suffered gunshot wound after a team unearthed gas theft at a CNG station in Phool Nagar and sealed the property on early Wednesday.
Accoridng to a press release, the SNGPL Lahore region in coordination with the Head Office Task Force conducted a raid at A-One CNG Station, Phool Nagar at 1am.
It was observed that consumer was stealing gas by tampering the meter through application of magnet on meter body.

The pilfered gas was being filled in heavy trailer mounted 270 CNG cylinders. Due to gas theft, the subject meter was disconnected from site and service line was capped by the field team.
On the way back to office, a suspect chased SNGPL vehicles, where meter was placed, damaged the company's two vehicles and also fired on vehicle
The firing left a personnel identified as Kashif Saeed who suffered wound to his arm.
Separate applications for the registration of FIRs have been submitted to the police stations of Phool Nagar City and Manga Mandi.
Currently, the trailer is in police custody.
