Computer Prodigy Arfa Karim remembered on her 10th death anniversary
Karim represented Pakistan at various international forums and was also invited by tech giant Bill Gates to visit Microsoft Headquarters in the US.

Lahore: The 10th death anniversary of the world’s youngest Microsoft certified professional Arfa Karim Randhawa is being observed on Friday (January 14).
Arfa became the youngest recipient of the Pride of Performance Award, that country’s president gives as a lifetime achievement award and is regarded as the highest civilian award.
She received the Fatimah Jinnah Gold Medal in the field of Science and Technology. She also received the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award, again from the President of Pakistan.
At the age of nine, she became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional in 2004 from Pakistan and kept the title until 2008.
In July 2005, Arfa was invited to visit the United States (US) by the Microsoft Corporation, where she met the co-founder of the company, Bill Gates and presented her Microsoft Application Certificate for her achievements and performance in the information technology sector.
On December 20, 2011, Arfa suffered a cardiac arrest after an epileptic seizure that damaged her brain.
Hence, she died on 14th January 2012, at the age of 16.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Arshad Nadeem for winning gold medal in the Javelin throw competition at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
In a tweet on Monday, the premier said that Arshad Nadeem has made Pakistan proud, adding that his consistency, passion, and hard work hold lessons for our youth.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has also felicitated Arshad Nadeem for setting a new record and creating history with his exceptional performance at the Commonwealth games.

UAE intends to invest in diverse sectors of Pakistan: PM

Terming Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan as his brother, the Prime Minister extended thanked him for investment in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.
The two leaders exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
Pakistan and Qatar enjoy close and cordial relations and Qatar is home to over two hundred thousand Pakistani diaspora that is playing a pivotal role in development of both countries.

PM lauds performance of Pakistani athletes at ongoing Commonwealth games
He said these athletes are pride of the nation who increased Pakistan's honor in the comity of nations.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has commended the performance of Pakistani athletes at the ongoing Commonwealth games.
In his tweets on Monday, he said Nooh Butt and Arshad Nadeem won gold, Sharif Tahir, Zaman Anwar and Inam Butt won silver and Shah Hussain, Ali Asad and Inayatullah won bronze medals in the Commonwealth Games, making all Pakistanis, including him, proud.
He said these athletes are pride of the nation who increased Pakistan's honor in the comity of nations.
The Prime Minister said he will meet all these athletes on their return home and encourage them. He said other Pakistani athletes participating in the Commonwealth Games are also commendable who are representing Pakistan with hard work and dedication.
Describing victory or defeat part of the game, he urged the athletes not to give up and keep working hard.
