Missing Bangladeshi actress’s body found in sack; murderer arrested
Police have sent the dead body for autopsy and are waiting for it's reports


Dhaka: Bangladeshi actress Raima Islam Shimu – who was reported missing a few days ago – was found dead in the outskirts of Dhaka, foreign media reported.
According to the police, the actress body was found inside a sack near the Hazratpur Bridge in Keraniganj on Monday.
Shimu's relatives had filed a complaint at the Kalabagan Police Station on Sunday after she went missing. After being informed by locals, a team of police from the Keraniganj Model Station recovered the body.
A top police official said the body has been sent to the Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (SSMCH) for autopsy. The actress was brutally murdered as the dead body had many injury marks.
After which the police detained Raima's husband Shakhawat Ali Noble, who had filed a missing complaint at the Kalabagan police station, and his driver for interrogation. After hours of grilling Raima's husband is said to have confessed to the crime, however the motive of murder is not yet clear. Raima's husband Shakhawat Ali is now on a 3-day remand.
Meanwhile, the police have sent the dead body for autopsy and are waiting for it's reports. However, some reports in the Bangladeshi media suggest some actor's involvement in the case, but the police haven't disclosed anything related to this as yet.
The 45-year-old actress made her debut with the film 'Bartaman' in 1998. She has since worked in as many as 25 films.
She was an associate member of the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association. In addition to films, she also worked in TV dramas and produced as well.
