Shikarpur: Three people, including an imam, were shot dead in a mosque in the Shikarpur district of Sindh on Sunday.
According to SSP Shikarpur Tanveer Ahmed Tanio, the incident took place due to old enmity between two rival groups of Mangrani community.
The police said two rival groups started shooting at each other at a mosque in Goth Habib Jakro near Garhi Yasin tehsil of Shikarpur district, leaving three people dead. Five armed men entered the mosque and opened fire.
The deceased were identified as Imam Irshad Mangrani, Dilshad, and Shaman Kakrani, police said. The bodies were transferred to a hospital. Police started an investigation.
According to police, the assailants fled the scene.
SSP Tanveer Ahmed Tanio said that the incident took place due to old enmity between the two groups of Mangrani community. The area has been cordoned off to arrest the fugitives.
