PHC seeks response from CM, Speaker KP on reserve seats case
The applicant’s lawyer appeared before the court
Peshawar: The Peshawar high court (PHC) has sought response from chief minister and Speaker provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within one week while issuing the notice on the pleas of contempt of court filed against not taking oath from elected members on reserve seats.
According to the details, justice S.M Attique Shah and justice Waqar Ahmed heard the case. The applicant’s lawyer appeared before the court.
The applicant stated that the detail verdict has come now and also the 14 days have completed but the oath was not taken from the elected members.
Justice questioned that why did the KP government not take oath from the elected members after the detail verdict by the court.
Later then the court issued the notices of Ali Amin Gandapur and speaker provincial assembly.

Pakistan refuses to provide bases to any foreign govt

Islamabad: The spokesperson of Foreign Office Thursday said that Pakistan will not provide bases to any foreign government.
Spokesperson of the Foreign Office, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, stated in the weekly briefing that Pakistan has good relations with the US and Iran, and will expand its relations with both countries in the national interest. The trilateral talks of Pakistan, China and Iran are important, the date of these talks has not been decided yet.
She added: “There are many channels of communication between Pakistan and Iran, and will continue the communication to increase cooperation with Iran”.
The talks between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia regarding investment in other sectors including energy are underway, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office continued.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch further said that the Indian network was active in South Asia for many decades, the Indian extrajudicial killing network has spread across the world. Pakistan has put the evidence of attacks by Indian agents before the world, Indian actions are illegal and a violation international law.
She continued to say that the world brought India to the dock for its actions, history repeated itself in February 2019. Indian leadership makes statements for political purposes. Zahra did not comment on the recent statement of the Indian Prime Minister.
The spokesperson of the Foreign Office further stated that Pakistan's forces and people are always ready to defend the country.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch also added that the Israeli aggression and blockade in Gaza is condemnable, Pakistan condemns the increasing aggression and illegal settlement by Israel, Pakistan reiterates its commitment to support the Palestinian people.

Polio virus in environmental samples of Karachi
The virus was confirmed in environmental samples from 10 districts across the country in April
Karachi: Polio virus has been detected for the first time in the environmental samples of District South and Mirpur Khas of Karachi.
According to officials, the virus was confirmed in environmental samples from 10 districts across the country in April.
Officials said that polio virus has also been confirmed in environmental samples from Kemari, Hyderabad and Jamshoro districts of Karachi, while the virus has also been found in environmental samples from Sukkur and Jacobabad.
Apart from this, polio virus was detected in environmental samples in Quetta, Chaman, and Naseerabad districts of Balochistan.
It is pertinent to note that polio virus has been found in the environmental samples of 33 districts in Pakistan so far this year. Two cases of polio have been reported in Pakistan so far this year.
