Judges' Letter Case: CJP convenes full court meeting

Islamabad: After meeting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the context of the letter written by the judges of Islamabad High Court (IHC), the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa called a full court meeting.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached the Supreme Court to meet CJP Qazi Faez Isa, where the meeting between the two personalities lasted for about an hour and 20 minutes.

It is reported that the Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of Pakistan met in the Chamber of the Chief Justice. The most senior judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Minister of Law Azam Nazir Tarar and Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Mansoor Usman Awan also participated in this important meeting.

On the other hand, after the meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chief Justice of Pakistan called a full court meeting in the Supreme Court, which will begin after some time.

It is pertinent to note that on the issue of the letter of six judges of the IHC, a full court meeting of the Supreme Court was held yesterday also under the chairmanship of CJP Qazi Faez Isa.

In the meeting, the letter of the judges of Islamabad High Court was considered and the constitutional and legal status of the letter of the judges was reviewed.

Punjab assembly approves budget of financial year 2023-24

Lahore: Punjab assembly has approved budget of financial year 2023-24.

According to the details, Punjab assembly’s session was started for the delay of one and a half hour. The session was chaired by speaker Malik Ahmed Khan. The voting and arguments’ procedure began on wealth demands and yearly budget in assembly’s session.

In house, 40 wealth demands have been presented. Apart from that seven Tehreek of deduction have been presented in Punjab assembly.

Opposition began the arguments against the wealth demands. In session, Sunni Ittehad Council’s (SIC) leader Imtiaz Sheik taunted the women on giving the seats in charity on this the noise started in house.

Imtiaz Sheikh addressed the speaker and stated that you make them sit these women on the charity seats. On this the bitter words exchanged between both leaders.

Later then the opposition members diced around the speaker. On this moment the house was echoed with the slogans of Shamim and both sides’ members stood on seats.

ECP issues decision to postpone senate elections in KP

ECP said that to cast vote is the basic right of everyone.

Islamabad: The election commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued verdict to postpone senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

According to the details, ECP issued verdict to postpone the senate elections in KP on the matter of oath on reserve seats of KP assembly.

ECP stated in the verdict that if speaker KP assembly would not have obeyed the court orders then we will be helpless to postpone the senate elections to the extent of KP.

ECP said that to cast vote is the basic right of everyone. No voter can be deprived from casting vote in any case.
