Sialkot: Sialkot Police has claimed that journalist and senior anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan has recovered and reached home.

According to Sialkot Police, Imran Riaz has been brought home safely and currently with his family.

DPO Sialkot Hasan Iqbal said that journalist Imran Riaz Khan has recovered and reached his home safely.

It is pertinent to note that Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team arrested Imran Riaz on his way from Lahore to Dubai in February this year. He was arrested for making a controversial statement.

Earlier, in July 2022, the immigration authorities had offloaded the anchor, who was on bail, for trying to go to Dubai from Lahore.

According to FIA, anchor Imran Riaz tried to go to Dubai from Lahore Airport, but as his name was in the blacklist, he was offloaded and sent back home.

Electricity losses of over Rs11 bln revealed in Mardan

Compared to Mardan, the loss of power theft in Swat is Rs2 billion.

Mardan: Power Division Secretary Rashid Langriyal revealed that electricity worth 34 billion rupees is provided in Mardan for which Rs23 billion is received, however the annual losses of electricity are more than 11 billion rupees.

The Federal Secretary for Power Division said: “Compared to Mardan, the loss of power theft in Swat is Rs2 billion”.

Rashid Langriyal stated that three more people have been arrested for electricity theft in Islamabad Electric Supply Company (ISCO) region. More than 1000 electricity thieves have been caught in the region.

He continued to say that more than 6.5 million rupees have been fined in the actions against the electricity thieves.

On the other hand, Rs1.62 billion have been collected from electricity thieves in Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) region so far.

According to HESCO spokesperson, 315 cases have been registered against the defaulters and 31 people have been arrested.

Meanwhile, Rs1.02 billion have been recovered from electricity thieves and defaulters in Sukkur region, while 442 electricity thieves have been arrested.

PTI reacts to caretaker PM's statement

PTI spokesperson said that an election conducted without Chairman PTI will be unconstitutional, immoral.

Islamabad: Responding to caretaker prime minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar's statement, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) termed the election as immoral and unconstitutional without PTI chairman Imran Khan.

PTI spokesman stated that caretaker prime minister's statement is a manifestation of insensitivity in the state structure. Tehreek-e-Insaf is the largest single representative political party of Pakistan.

He said that an election conducted without Chairman PTI will be unconstitutional, immoral. People will never accept such elections.

Spokesman PTI added: “Anwaar-ul-Haq should immediately explain his statement, as the caretaker prime minister, he should separate his government from the scandalous projects”.

It is pertinent to note that caretaker premier Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that transparent elections can be held without Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan or hundreds of jailed members of the party.

While giving an interview to the US News Agency, Anwar-ul-Haq said that jailed PTI members were involved in illegal activities of vandalism and arson. Thousands of PTI members who are not involved in illegal activities will be able to participate in the election.

The premier continued to say: “I am not pursuing personal revenge against any politician including Imran Khan. If anyone is caught breaking the law, we will ensure the supremacy of the law”.
