Int'l Day of Solidarity with Palestinians observed today

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is being observed today (Wednesday).

In 1977, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) had called for annual observance of the day.       

The statement issued on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Palestinians in Gaza are suffering a humanitarian catastrophe.

UN Secretary-General pointed out that almost 1.7 million people have been forced from their home in Gaza Strip.

He called for unrestricted access to lifesaving aid, the release of all hostages, the protection of civilians, and an end to violations of international humanitarian law.

PSL-9, Hasan Ali to lead Karachi Kings

Karachi: Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Islamabad United's fast bowler Hasan Ali will represent Karachi Kings in the upcoming edition of the event.

The former Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim will play for Islamabad United in PSL-9 while fast bowler Hasan Ali has moved to Karachi Kings instead.

Karachi Kings acquired Islamabad United's first round silver pick in exchange for their second round silver pick.

Among the successful relegation requests by franchises ahead of the PSL-9 player draft are Lahore Qalandars' Mirza Tahir Baig, Islamabad United's Ruman Raees and Karachi Kings' Mir Hamza.

Shadab Khan will remain the captain of Islamabad United while Imad Wasim will play in the team as a player.

Drafting of PSL-9 is likely to be held on December 13 in Lahore while Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given the date of December 13 to the franchises for drafting.

Crude oil prices rise again in global market

According to the international media, the price of Russian oil per barrel has fallen below 60 dollars in the market.

Moscow: The crude oil prices in the global market have increased marginally after a continuous decline.

According to global media, Brent crude futures rose 03 cents to settle at $81.71 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 17 cents, or 0.2 percent, to settle at $76.58 a barrel.

According to experts, investors became cautious ahead of the OPEC meeting, while supply disruptions due to storms in the Black Sea boosted prices.

It is pertinent to note that after US and British crude oil in the global market, the price of Russian crude oil is also decreasing.

According to the international media, the price of Russian oil per barrel has fallen below 60 dollars in the market. The limit of 60 dollars per barrel of Russian oil has been set by the European Union, but the price of Russian oil in the market is below the specified limit.

It is also reported that the prices of crude oil are currently at the lowest level of four months, under the influence of which a large reduction in the prices of petroleum products is expected in Pakistan from December 1. However, the final announcement of petroleum product prices for the next 15 days will be made with the approval of Prime Minister.
