Petrol, diesel prices to remain constant, says Ishaq

The Finance Minister says the government has made a conscious effort to keep these prices unchanged till April 15th.

Islamabad:  Finance Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar on Friday said that the prices of petrol and diesel would remain constant for the upcoming two weeks.

The federal government made a decision to keep the prices of petroleum products consistent for the next fifteen days.

In a press statement, Dar revealed that the government made a conscious effort to keep these prices unchanged till April 15th. Additionally, he also mentioned that the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel were lowered by up to Rs10.

Young Doctors Threaten Hospital Protests Over Killing of Dr. Birbal

Karachi: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Karachi Chapter held a meeting at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to discuss the targeted killing of Dr Birbal Genani, a renowned ophthalmologist and former director of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.

During the meeting, the YDA announced three days of mourning in honor of Dr Genani's memory and demanded that the Inspector General (IG) Sindh arrest the killers within 48 hours.

Dr Genani was traveling with Dr Quratul Ain on the Garden Lyari Expressway when unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle. Dr Genani was killed instantly, while Dr Quratul Ain sustained injuries and was taken to Civil Hospital for treatment. The assailants managed to flee from the scene before the police arrived.

The YDA has threatened to boycott all medical institutions if the killers of Dr Genani are not apprehended by the police. They have made it clear that they will not tolerate any delays or inaction in this matter. The YDA is an influential organization that represents the interests of young doctors in Pakistan. They have a history of protesting against issues that affect the medical community and have been known to use boycotts as a form of protest in the past.

Dr Genani was a well-respected figure in the medical community. He was the head of Spencer Eye Hospital and also ran a private clinic in the Ranchore Line area of Karachi.
