ECP suspends all additional reserved seats across Pakistan
These reserved seats were additionally distributed among PML-N, PPP and other parties.
Islamabad: Following the decision of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Monday suspended all the additional reserved seats in the assemblies across the country for which a notification has been issued.
According to the notification issued by the ECP, a total of 77 members of the National and Provincial Assembly have been suspended, in which the membership of 21 members from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has been suspended, while the membership of three minorities has been suspended in the National Assembly.
According to the released notification, 11 women members of National Assembly from Punjab and four members of minorities from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly have been suspended while eight women members of National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have also been suspended.
These reserved seats were additionally distributed among Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and other parties.
It is pertinent to note that on May 6, the Supreme Court suspended the decision of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) and the ECP in the case related to the allocation of reserved seats by the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) to other parties.

NAB is used against Imran, says Gohar

Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan Monday said that preparations are being made to make a fourth case on toshakhana and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is being used against the founder PTI Imran Khan.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar stated that Imran Khan asked to apologize to him. ‘We have condemned May 9, the judicial commission should investigate it’.
He added that Imran Khan has said that if there is rule of law then there will be stability and if there is political stability, the country will develop. A certain party is not allowed to hold a meeting, the judiciary is respected and trusted.
Barrister Gohar continued to say that the Imran said that they will do dialogue, not deal, they are doing dialogue for the sake of Pakistan, they will not do it for personal interest. There has been no progress in the negotiation committee till date, political statements are being made by leaders against each other.
He further said that the former prime minister has expressed concern over tax collection and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program.
Gohar further stated that efforts are being made that the source of power is the powerful circles. The judiciary is requested to hear the illegal marriage case tomorrow and decide instead of adjournment. Regarding the ‘Form-47’ statement of former Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, we are going to court.
Chairman PTI further added that founder PTI has expressed concern on the issue of Azad Kashmir, people of Kashmir should be given relief which is their right and should be done with patience instead of violence. PTI stands with them in public demands.
He also said that Imran Khan said that our government was overthrown in Azad Kashmir. Which Rana Sanaullah said was the victory of PTI.

Shehbaz resigns from presidency of PML-N
Shehbaz Sharif left the party post and sent his resignation to party leader Mian Nawaz Sharif
Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Monday stepped down from the presidency of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), reportedly.
According to media reports, Shehbaz Sharif left the party post and sent his resignation to party leader Mian Nawaz Sharif.
It is also reported that the meeting of the PML-N Central Council will be held on May 18 in Lahore at 11:30am, in which former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif will be elected as the party's president.
The meeting of the executive committee of the party has been called under Article-15 of the party Constitution. The notice for the meeting has been sent to the central committee by Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal.
