Cylinder blast in Karachi shop kills one, hurts six 

According to locals, some people may still be inside the shop and operations are underway to evacuate them.

Karachi: In an unfortunate incident, one person was killed, while six sustained the injuries as a result of cylinder explosion that took place in Karachi's New Chali area.

According to the details, there was a loud explosion in the generator market building in front of the main entrance of the Chamber of Commerce. The sound of the explosion was heard far and wide.

Rescue and police officials reached the scene, but the fire brigade staff could not make it and the building got engulfed in heavy fire.

According to locals, some people may still be inside the shop and operations are underway to evacuate them.

On the other hand, a moving vehicle caught fire near Shara-e-Faisal Nursery in Karachi, the occupants of the vehicle were fortunately safe, the residents of the area along with the rescue team have brought the fire under control.

Court orders Punjab govt to present details amid wheat

That is why the farmers are forced to sell the wheat to the mafia in cheap rates.

Lahore: The Lahore high court (LHC) has ordered to present details of decision of Punjab government regarding the wheat.

According to the details, justice Shahid Karim heard the case on the plea of advocate Farhat Manzoor Chandio against the Punjab government of not buying wheat from the farmers.

The court stated that the judiciary will not interfere in the policy matters of the government. On the next hearing, the Punjab cabinet will be informing the court from the decision regarding the wheat.

It is said in the petition that the government issued the policy for the procurement of wheat Rs3900. The government was supposed to start the procurement of wheat from the farmers from April 22.

Advocate Farhat also said that in accordance with the government’s policy the procurement of wheat was not started from the farmers. That is why the farmers are forced to sell the wheat to the mafia in cheap rates.

It is pleaded in the petition that the court order government to buy wheat from farmers on immediate official rates.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Tuesday expressed satisfaction over the approval of final installment of $1.1 billion for Pakistan by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to the details, Prime Minister said that receiving the installment of 1.1 billion dollars from the IMF will bring more economic stability in Pakistan. In 2016, Nawaz Sharif had completed the IMF program.

Shehbaz Sharif stated that now the second program of Standby Agreement (SBA) is being completed. This agreement with IMF proved to be important in saving Pakistan from default, the fruits of difficult decision are coming in the form of economic stability.

He added: “We will do our best to improve the economy, taking loans is not success, success will be the day we get rid of debt”.

Later, the Prime Minister praised the efforts of the entire economic team including Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Managing Director of IMF for supporting Pakistan in difficult times.

It is pertinent to note that yesterday the Executive Board of IMF approved the release of the last installment of 1.1 billion dollars for Pakistan under the Standby Arrangement (SBA).
