Opposition parties agree to nominate Shehbaz as PM after ‘winning no-trust motion’
Nawaz Sharif also has given green signal to name of Shehbaz Sharif for PM after the success of no-trust move
Lahore: The joint opposition on Wednesday agreed to nominate Opposition Leader in National Assembly as the next prime minister after winning no-confidence motion against Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.
A meeting of Shehbaz Sharif, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leadership was held in Model Town. During the meeting, strategy for success of no-confidence motion. They also exchanged views on overall political situation of the country came under discussion.
It was also reported that Nawaz Sharif also has given green signal to name of Shehbaz Sharif for PM after the success of no-trust move. Sources also maintained they were trying to sort out disagreement and come up with a final plan over the next move. The meeting at the residence of Shehbaz Sharif began after Zardari arrived there Wednesday afternoon. Fazlur Rehman reached there a little earlier.
PMLN’s Ayaz Sadiq, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Rana Sanaullah and Marriyum Aurangzeb also attended the meeting, according to a PMLN statement.
JUIF delegation included Akram Durrani, Maulana Abdur Rehman, and Maulana Amjad. Former President Asif Ali Zardari was accompanied by Bilawal Bhutto, Yousaf Raza Gilani and others.
